G'day all,
Just thought I would post this message to inform people of a research
project aimed at reducing Myna bird numbers. It is run by the Australian
National University and is called the Minimising Mynas. It is headed by Dr
Chris Tidemann.
Much of the project centres around a trap that has been designed to trap
Mynas and very cleverly, nothing else it seems. This trap is being trialed
around Canberra.
The project has a website with loads of great information on Mynas at,
http://sres.anu.edu.au/associated/myna/index.html
This website also has a mailing list attached to it to keep people updated
on developments.
Also I have posted and a discussion has been had about Mynas and this
project on Envirotalk at,
http://www.envirotalk.com.au/forum/index.php?showtopic=626&st=0&#entry2384
(Please excuse the pop up box if you have a look - it goes away and its
future is being debated.)
Thankyou, Stephen Selden
