I would go for Great, Slater says that the gape of the Intermediate does not extend behind the eye.

Subject: [BIRDING-AUS] Egrets - Help with photos

While at The Entrance, NSW recently, I took a few photos of an Egret fishing in the town centre. I have shown the photo to a couple of people and am still not sure if it is a Great or Intermediate Egret and would appreciate it if one of the more knowledgeable members here could give an opinion? My bird books are not much help on this one.
