The Sequence of Orders and Families

Phylogenetic taxonomy isnt designed to make order 'logical' so to speak, but
rather to group animals according to their genetic relationships, which
often means animals that may appear or live similarly are not necessarily
grouped near each other in the order of things....if that makes sense.
Frustrating I agree, unless you happen to be a taxonomist, and as already
mentioned different taxonomists have different views with roughly 25
different species concepts. This is the case with all groups of animals and
if you think birds are frustrating try studying arthropods.
