Hi All, three of us from Adelaide drove over to Pt MacDonnell today ( Monday) to see the penguin.  It was good to see that NPWS had put up a barrier to prevent people getting too close and maybe frightening it. It was quite easy to see and photograph, both from the clifftop above and from the barrier on the beach.
A really beautiful bird with very long flippers which nearly reached the ground and large feet like a hobbit. It still had quite a lot of old coat on the nape and down it's back so should be there for a bit yet.
Just on a 900 km round trip with few stops - we won't need any rocking tonight.

Tony.
