Eastern Whipbird

Hi all
I live at the edge of Lake Macquarie in an urban environment that has
fragmented vegetation on the foreshore and domestic gardens. Three years ago
a male whipbird took up residence, has been smart enough to evade the
neighbourhood cats and has created a home range in a very small area. Much
to my delight, last week he finally found himself a girlfriend so now there
are the classic double calls between the pair. Here's hoping they make it to
the next breeding season. I'll keep you posted.
