Tim
Unfortunately there has been no private correspondence re the Port Botany
proposal. All is quiet. Too quiet.
Have just today emailed Birds Australia direct and will keep you posted on
their reply.
I would love to hear what other Birders who frequent the estuary think of
the plans, which can be viewed at

They call it an EIS but it reads more like a sales document to me

I fully agree with what Mike says & would like to comment further. Over the
past few months I have noticed many postings raising questions which would
definitely be of interest to many in the group, but for which no replies
ever appear on Birding-Aus. Sometimes it would be a case of no one having
the answers but I'm sure many others are replied to in private, leaving many
on the list hanging out for a reply which never comes. Many people are
reluctant to post to the list in the light of previous arguments over
relevance.

Russell, I hope I'm not overstepping the mark by appealing to people to post
any topic relevant replies to the list for the benefit of all as well as the
archives (unless of course they are of a personal nature).

Even in the case of requesting the location of the archives or other such
simple info (as happened this morning) posting the reply to the list lets
others know it's been answered and avoids the asker being swamped with
dozens of private replies.

A case in point is the posting by Mark Whittaker about the expansion of Port
Botany - if anyone has replied in private I'm sure others would want to hear
about it as well.

Cheers
