Dear Sir

I read that you are intending to permit a duck shooting season this year.  I am really concerned about this as native duck populations are at present very low due to the recent drought. They did not breed well during the drought but are compensating by trying to breed now.  Therefore during the current breeding season they are particularly vulnerable while brooding and raising young. In addition, because of projected flooding, birds may will be engaged in breeding for most of this year. An Open Duck Season this year would be disastrous and I would ask you to reverse any such decision.

If you would like any elaboration on this please feel free to contact me.
