We had a brief trip to the Plant this morning.  We commenced at the eastern end and worked west.  There is now a lot of water in both Conservation Lagoons, consequently very few waders about.
Has anyone seen a Lesser Sand Plover in the area?   Three of us think we have on 2 separate occasions.
There were few birds on the  Borrow Pit.  There were plenty of duck on all the deep lagoons and on Lake Borrie too.   Very few birds apart from Shelduck at Paradise Road. There were many Freckled Duck in the rock in Borrie South.  No signs of the Oriental Pratincol.  As the tide was in there were few birds  at Kirk Point, 3 Common Terns were most interesting as well as 3 Pied Oystercatchers with their distinctive leg-bands.
What a delight the Tsection(Murtcaim) was; the 3 sections all had plenty of waders. There are plenty of Banded stilts still  voraciously feeding.  The Lagoon was packed with Avocet, Banded Stilts and among them I counted 8 Godwits.  It was a wonderful sight.  When we were there the other day there were 3 Brolga at the waters edge.   So it is still a great place to visit.
