G'day birders, had a great morning at Shoalhaven Heads today with Chris Dwyer who was also visiting the area - some really good numbers of waders, in fact the highest counts that I have had at this location, particularly for Eastern Curlew which totalled 53!

Waders present were as follows:

Bar-Tailed Godwit            500+
Eastern Curlew                53
Red Knot                        8
Great Knot                      1
Sharp-Tailed Sandpiper    40
Red-Necked Stint            300+
Pacific-Golden Plover        40
Curlew Sandpiper               1
Lesser Sandplover              2
Pied Oystercatcher            2
Red-Capped Plover            36

Other birds present included a single Caspian Tern with a number of Common, Little and Crested Terns, plus the usual suspects including a number of White-Fronted Chats and the odd Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo overhead.

Didn't see the Broad-Billed Sandpiper reported earlier unfortunately despite a thorough search.

Cheers
Simon.
