I agree. Two years in a row around spring when there are baby birds in
nests. I have had calls about boys actually climbing the trees and taking
the birds with the nest and taking the baby birds home (Red Wattlebirds - 2
years in a row & baby Crested Pigeons & Wattlebirds this past spring). The
first year I picked them up from the primary school and the lady said the
boys climbed up and took the bird and nest. The second time it was 3 baby
Wattlebirds theyhad for days playing with them. I got them off a neighbour
Another call from the school another Wattlebird baby and the last time it
was 2 baby Crested Pigeons were picked up from their dad. The rescuer
lectured the kids and told them how wrong it was....etc. I am hoping next
season we wont get anymore but i know there will be. These kids go out
searching for baby birds to play with???
I don't think anything can be done to stop them?
