Hi all,

As I left my house this morning in Port Melbourne, a flock of 15 Scaly-breasted
Lorikeets flew over my head. I have never seen this species in Port Melbourne
before, but HANZAB states that there are birds recorded from Melbourne, which
are most likely the result of aviary escapes. Other people have suggested to me
that they could be casuals from further north. Any thoughts? I was also
wondering if anyone else has been seeing this species around Melbourne
recently, and where.

Daniel.
