Hi All,

Mainly for Sydney birders.
There were 2 Black Bitterns at Deep Creek on Narrabeen Lagoon this morning
(2-12-2003). They were on Deep Creek just upstream of the little creek west
of the dog training area and were together in a tree on the south side of
the creek. I saw them about 6.10 A. M.

I first saw a single bird opposite the d. t. a. last Tuesday, since then
another group have seen a single bird just upstream of this morning's
sighting. They have all been seen during daylight hours possibly because
they have hungry chicks somewhere and are feeding them full time. Both times
I saw the bird(s) it was overcast, either threatening or actually raining so
the best time to look for them may be when those conditions prevail.

Cheers, Bruce.
