Went to Penrhyn Estuary ( Botany Bay ) on Sunday afternoon to survey colour flags on Little Terns. These birds have always used Penrhyn as a feeding and roosting site but yesterday we found two pairs nesting on the sand spit. Each nest has two eggs however I am concern with their selection of nesting site as this area is heavily used by fishermen and dog walkers. As far as I know this may be the first nesting at Penrhyn or at least the first for the past few years???
