Two spots I've had great views of both are Lady Carrington Drive in Royal
NP and Bluegum Swamp near Winmalee, but if you added the books below
your Christmas list, you'd have a lot more info:

"Birds of Sydney" by Hoskin, Hindwood & Macgill
