Dear birding-aussers
We've just had almost two days of wonderful rain, wind and lightening/thunder. The rivers are running again and this morning between showers I walked down to the Avon valley wetlands to see if there was any action.  Yes, 3 Japanese Snipe erupted from a boggy area near the road, and a lone male Chestnut-breasted Mannikin plus lots of chirruping Golden-headed Cisticolas were in the wet grass. And it rained again this evening.
