I recently sent you a message re. having a
regent honeyeater on our land near the Peel River - 20kms upstream from
Tamworth. For the next few days I was having daily
sightings of at least two birds in our far paddock.
We then had to go away for about a week and have
just come home. You can imagine my excitement to come home to find
two adults and an immature regent honeyeater in the callistemon outside my
office window.
We are now getting quite a few sightings in this
area, so it looks like the Barraba birds have moved south this year.
It is great to know they are still breeding successfully.
