G'day all

A work colleague has just told me about hearing a Crested Shrike-tit mimic
the calls of a range of birds including Blackbird, Grey Shrike-thrush,
Striated Pardalote, Jacky Winter, Brown Falcon and New Holland Honeyeater

I've not heard of this before. Pizzey says "noted for mimicry" but I've
only ever heard the 4 note "knock at the door" call.

Can anyone comment on how common it is for Crested Shrike-tit's to use
mimicry?

Cheers

Steve
