Hi all
Darwin turned on some pretty good birds today. Started the morning with 4
Chestnut Rails at Buffalo Creek (all four in view at the same time, 2 on each
side of the creek). Then to the Leanyer Sewage Works, where there was
Little Ringed Plover, 2 Yellow Wagtails (one in spectacular yellow plumage),
a few Oriental Plovers, Little Curlews, White-winged Black Terns, Black-
necked Storks and lots of the normal ducks and things. In the afternoon, a
quick visit back to the sewage works and a Long-toed Stint was feeding at
the side of the track. It came right past my car within a few metres. Very
cooperative.
Happy Birding
Niven
