Hmmm, it begs the question why they are called "magpie-larks" rather than "pied larks". Using the same logic, you could refer to pied currawongs as magpie-crows, pied butcherbirds as little-magpies, and willie wagtails as magpie fantails.

Actually, now that I think of it, you could probably call willie wagtails "colliwobbles".
