Hello all

Around Brisbane, we have all of the usual migrants back (or just about.)  Heaps of Sacred Kingfishers around including one in our lounge room last week!!  Lots of Dollarbirds, Koels and Channel-billed Cuckoos.  Last Saturday I saw a group of nine C-b Cuckoos near Forest Hill near Laidley in SE Q'ld.  Not far away was a large flock (at least 600 I estimate) of mainly White-browed and Masked Woodswallows with some White-breasteds thrown in.  They were all calling loudly and seemed to be feeding on swarms of small flying ants.

I could not find the Aust. Pratincoles I had seen a week earlier at Lake Atkinson.

I was doing some bird surveys for Brisbane City Council not far south of the city last week and there were also a number of Forest Kingfishers about.

Cheers
