All this talk of Koels and Channel Billed Cuckoos
arriving back, including plenty of reports form nearby suburbs, but none
here yet ( that I have heard any way) in Turramurra (northern suburbs of
Sydney). I recall this is the same pattern as last year (from Birding-Aus)
and prior years (from NSW Birdline). We have plenty of habitat,
appropriate host species and they definitely turn up, but often two or
three weeks after everyone else's - any reasons?

PS perhaps I should be grateful that we have to
wait three weeks longer for the inimitable 5am pass of the
CBCs!!
