Yesterday 20/09/03 here at Faulconbridge in the lower Blue Mountains NSW it
was great to hear the first returning White Throated Warbler and Rufous
Whistler. No Koels as yet but they tend to be later in my area. My garden
is currently bereft of little birds as the local Red Wattlebirds are
nesting. They built one in my garden but it seems to have been abandoned.
However that makes no difference - no bird dares to approach my garden as
they are immediately attacked and seen off the premises for some great
distance by the wattlebirds.
