Following on from Rob's possible sheltering or windblown Arctic Tern, there were a few terns sheltering by the old rowing shed beside Corio Bay, opposite Geelong Grammar School this morning. 1 Caspian and 3 or 4 Fairy or Littles - we get all these here occasionally. It's probably my 4th or 5th Caspian record here in 10 years, and I've seen Fairies here a couple of times. Fairy & Little Terns are more commonly observed around the Pt Lillias / Pt Wilson area. perhaps they found the shoreline near GGS a little less buffeted by wind this morning.

I hope they are still there tonight or tomorrow as I was running so late I didn't have time to go back for a pair of bins to check what species I was looking at.
