The problem is caused by the "birding-sydney" invitation email that
was sent to Birding-Aus.
People who follow the instructions and reply to the invitation to
try join the list are actually signing up the whole Birding-Aus
mailing list!  This is not a good idea...
If you want to join the birding-sydney mailing list, don't reply
to the invitation - go to the "birding-sydney" website instead:
     http://groups.yahoo.com/group/birding-sydney/
