Hi all, Just a quick snippet from Martin Schultz who remains on Macquarie island (~1500 km SE Hobart). Yesterday 7th September Martin had a pod of 25+ Pilot Whales accompanied by 380+ Cape Petrels, 2 ANTARCTIC PETRELS flying amongst them, and about a km to the north 15+ unidentified dolphin/porpoise. Antarctic Petrels turn up infrequently as beach washed specimens but there are just a handful of sightings of live birds from Macquarie in the past 50 years.
