Hi all,
I was looking through an American book
that I have, on Cage Parrot Behaviour and I came across a picture
of two birds in a cage, one of them is a bird with a plum coloured cap
and a green/blue ring around its neck the other was a similar sized bird with a
dark blue cap yellow/green ring around its neck and a small red band at the
top of its beak,on close inspection I realized that it was a 'Twenty-eight' Ring
Neck,one of the subspecies of Australian Ringneck. The funny thing
though, is that the script underneath the picture says this
"....some parrots like to stay as pairs like these Plum Headed
Parrots"
Obviously the bird with the plum coloured cap is a
Plum Headed Parrot,but it was just interesting to see two completely different
species together like that.I wonder if they have had any offspring?
