Hi Birders,

The adult female Cotton-Pygmy Goose at Lane Cove National Park was initially located on a tidal backwater channel of Stringybark Creek, Lane Cove on 6 July 1991. The bird was subsequently observed in the general area until the 29th November 1992. The NSW Records Appraisal Committee dealt with the observation as case No 64 and accepted the record. The details concerning the observation was published in the "Second Report of the NSWORAC" in Australian Birds 26, 1321-132, June 1993.

As the Bar-shouldered Dove continues to expand its range southwards into the Sydney and Illawarra Regions, it would be most likely that one was recorded in Lane Cove NP. The comment "record generated 28/3/03" relates to when the details of the observation was entered into the NPWS Willdife Atlas data base, not when the bird was seen.
