Further to Chris Brandis message...shortly after Chris left, another
birder, a tall young man, of National Parks and Wildlife Service, who
introduced himself, and whose name my elderly memory does NOT retain...
apologies... called us, to show us the bird, sitting, partly
concealed. It flew, he found it again, and for a satisfyingly long
time we had good and close views...but never of the leg band.Eventually
it moved out of sight in an adjacent bush. It was on both occasions in
the narrow belt of scrub between the path and the cliff edge, and when
last seen, was quite close to the white notice nearer to the surf
club. We have considerable satisfaction in not having to go south of
the border for this new bird!
