What the page doesn't mention is that Lyme Disease
doesn't appear to be problem in Australia, see:

Which is a good thing, I caught Lyme some years ago while living near
New York. Presumably I picked up the tick when birdwatching probably
not too far from the town that gave the disease its name. Its not an
experience I'd care to repeat. I was diagnosed and treated early but
its still the sickest I've ever been.
Even if Lyme or a related pathogen isn't in Australia - I reckon
potential disease transmission is a very good reason to avoid tick and
mosquito bite.
There is some good arachnid news, White-tail Spiders (Lampona
sp.) apparently are much less dangerous than suggested, see:
