Nice to be awoken by screaming Barking Owls last night
here in Hazelbrook, mid Blue Mountains, NSW.

Although we have never seen them,
over the years they have always been around and "getting up to business"
about this time of year.

The pattern is usually the "Barking" call very early evening
and just before dawn and the scream if it's going to happen
around 1am, as it was last night.
