I was there a little after you Jacqui, and missed the Pink-eared Duck, but did see a Great White Egret (and a couple of Tawny Frogmouths near the southern carpark).

Yesterday for the first time I've ever seen there, a Pink Eared Duck at Braeside Park (SE of Melbourne). And it was in pristine condition with most  vivid colouring. No egrets or spoonbills yet, but plenty of Chestnut and Grey Teal, and a few swans and coots, and Hardheads. The raptors are still enjoying the area with a young Swamp Harrier, a Hobby, Kestrel and Black Shouldered Kite all within quite a short distance from each other.
