Hello all,
Yesterday I came back from a week at Main Arm in a Rainforest gully next to Mullumbimby on NSW far North coast.
 
Saw a few interesting species on the long drive up, including
Brahminy Kite,White bellied sea-eagle on nest ,Spangled Drongo,Pied oyster catcher near Forster
Plenty of Whistling kites,straw neck,white Ibis along the way.
At Nambucca heads, a white morph Grey Goshawk circling around the treetops.Stopped of at a pub at Yamba at around 5:30pm even though it was getting dark,managed to identify 3 overwintering Eastern Curlews a that where sitting on the sand bar,plus other un Identifiable waders(too dark to get the scope out)
When we got to Mullumbimby it was dark,missing Sooty Owl by an hour.
 
 
Monday
Woke up early to see flocks of White Headed and Topknot Pigeons,Figbirds,Logrunner, flock of 5 Regent Bowerbirds,Lewin Honey-eater,Grey Fantail,Red backed Fairy-wren,Tas Silvereyes,Brown,Buff rumped,Striated Thornbill,Heard scarlet honeyeaters calling,Brush turkeys,White Morph Grey Goshawk,Brown Cuckoo Dove,Wonga Pigeon.
Later saw a solitary Wompoo Fruit-Dove sitting quietly next to the creek,Torresian Crow.
 
Tuesday
aw Rufous Shrike Thrush and went up to a coastal place with no particular name(near Brunswick heads) but is now a desert for native birds(no remaining native habitat left),but still managed Scaly Breasted Lorikeet,White-bellied Sea-eagle,Rainbow Lorikeet,Brown honeyeater,Brahminy Kite,Pheasant Coucal,Noisy Friar Bird,Eastern Rosella,Sooty owl.
Heard chicken like screaching noises coming from near the chicken coup of all places (wasn't a chicken though)
 
Wednesday
Brush Turkey,Brown Honeyeater,Brahminy Kite,Crested tern.
That night, heard wierd noise sounding abit like a cat coughing,(a whispy 'heeee-oh'.....heeee-oh with 7 second intervals) it repeated about 12 times.
 
Thursday
Rose Crowned Fruit Dove,Bassian or Russet tailed thrush?,Bar shouldered dove.
Brunswick, 
Pair of Osprey,Little egret,juv Fan-tailed cuckoo,Mangrove Gerygone,Azure Kingfisher,Wedge-tailed Eagle,Bee-eater.
 
Friday
Chestnut-Breasted Manakin,Shining-Bronze Cuckoo,Mistletoe bird,Rose Robin,Varied triller
Trip back was via train.
Saturday
Swamp Harrier and a pair of Blue Billed Ducks passing Hexam swamp,in train.
 
A few new species, but overall just a really great trip.
Total birds seen was
around
