Yes indeed they can be quite tame.  I had one land on my shoulder while 
bushwalking in the Mistake Range west of Brisbane a few years ago.  It 
was wandering up the old forestry track I was standing on, flew over to 
a nearby branch to have a captain cook and then decided that my
shoulder would make a good perch.
