Folks,

Something like 60 Cattle Egrets on on a couple of adjacent sporting ovals in Glen Waverley (south-west corner of Waverley & Springvale Roads), about 20 km east-south-east of Melbourne to-day, in spite of complete lack of livestock.  Noticeable aggression between individuals over immediate foraging locations within the flock.  Also the Crested Pigeons continue to reside at Glendal Primary School, a few km further north - ten counted yesterday on the sports oval, and presumed courtship behaviour observed - birds bowing and rasing fanned tails towards each other.

Regards,

    Jack
