Hi Paul, I recently bought a Pentax PF80ED Spotting Scope and have only just ordered an adaptor for it.
It really depends on the type of scope you have and more importantly

I have a Kowa TSN-4 with the 20-60x zoom eyepiece. I also have
the 800mm camera adapter, but I don't believe it can be used for
digiscoping (except with a digital SLR.)

Kowa's digital camera adapter is not compatible with the TSN-4, so
I was interested in one of the third-party eyepiece clamps gadgets
or similar rather than trying to handhold the camera. I don't
have a digital camera yet - I've been hoping that Minolta will
produce a digital SLR body so I can use my existing zoom lens,
but no such luck (though the price of digital SLRs is still
prohibitive...)
