Dear Birding-Aussers

The Orange-bellied Parrot Recovery Team is in the process of organising the
national OBP count on the weekend of the 26-27 of July. Volunteers play a
vital role in these surveys, providing information on the location and
numbers of OBPs throughout their wintering range. I would like to extend an
invitation to you all to participate in this year's count. Traditional
areas which are covered include SE South Australia, Western Victoria, west
shore of Port Phillip Bay and Westernport. However, as Birding-Aussers will
be aware, there has been a confirmed sighting of an OBP in the Shellharbour
area of NSW in May. For this reason, we are also interested in volunteers
surveying areas of potential OBP habitat in Eastern Victoria and the south
coast of NSW. If you would like to participate or would like further
information, please contact me at Birds Australia (03) 9882 2622 email

Regards
Mark Antos
