hm, well, margaret's explanation makes sense, given the person and the location. however, i must admit  having never heard either the macquarie dictionary's slang _expression_ for, to be polite shall we call it, excreta, or the other alternative name for turmeric,which is something i do eat a lot of.
definitely something missing in my sheltered upbringing - but then i am an ex-pom birder, and we used to partake of the oxford english dikko.  it's not in my webster's either.
apologies for the 'all lower case' email but my other hand has recently been chewed by luther and is totally inoperative.
