G'day Peter and all,
I think it comes from the local indigenous folk of that area Peter. Tones in adled aid tells me each sunday morning they would call round to make sure the newly settled white folk were okay and would Borrie some white mans refined sugar. I suppose that's why they named them those "wretched borrie folk" :^D>>>
Have abeaut day everyone. JAG de Whag
There is a lake in the Werribee Sewerage Farm, Victoria called Lake Borrie.
Does anyone know how Lake Borrie was named? By whom, when and why?
Was the lake named prior to the sewerage farm being established around it?
If not, the namers obviously had a good sense of humour calling a lake in a sewerage farm, Lake Borrie! ;)
