G'day all I'm off to Townsville next month for a conference. Naturally I'd like to do some birding up there and hopefully see a few wet tropic species that eluded me on my only other visit to the area. I know about the Common and Paluma Ranges. What other areas close to Townsville would be worth a visit? I'll probably hire a car for a couple of days but don't want to travel too far. Do any of you have experience of the Hidden Valley Cabins near Paluma? It looks like a nice spot to stay. I'd be pleased to connect with any Townsville birders if our schedules permit.
