I did hear that the next edition of Simpson and Day is due to be published at the end of the year but will check with Nick Day about the likely date.

I've decided it's time to replace my tattered 5th Edition (my first field guide in fact) but I know as soon as I go out and buy the 6th Edition the 7th will be on the shelves within the week. The 6th was released in 1999 and revised editions have traditionally followed no more than 3 years later. The Preface of the 6th does promise further editions - so is there one coming, or have Ken & Nick retired from the field guide business?
