"Silvereyes are a very prized possesion to have, if you live overseas from Australia, and on many an occasion they have been murdered trying to illegally smuggle them out of Australia."

In Hong Kong (where I am currently living), white-eyes are a popular cage bird and are sold in great numbers in the bird market. However they are all the local species Z. japonica (japanese white-eye).

Cheers,
Koren
