Hi birders

I spent a few days last week roaming around the Cooma area in the NSW Southern Highlands.  Avian diversity is not particularly high there (particularly on the cusp of winter), but a couple of sites were interesting.  Coornartha Nature Reserve (off the Cooma - Numerella Road) produced Spotted Quail-thrush and a Pink Robin "brown bird", as well as numerous Scarlet Robins, etc.  The spot on the Murrumbidgee River near the Cooma water treatment plant turned up Speckled Warbler and Hooded Robin amongst the odd other thing.  A private property not far from Coornartha turned up Double-barred Finch and Diamond Firetail together, plus Banded Lapwings nearby - and of surprise to me at least, some feral Pigs!

Cheers, Lawrie
