I take that is a comment on your own birdwatching skills / riding ability.

The main challenge with commuter counting is to remember what you have observed along the way and whether there is something new for the list. The process of identifying most birds takes half a second, and requires less attention than the stereos, carphones and road signs regularly distracting car drivers.

Anyhow, I've managed to add another couple of birds to the list - a blue-faced honeyeater poking about in a palm [as they are wont to do] yesterday and a pied currawong heard while easing around an old gentleman walking a dog on a back path this afternoon.
