the local Jabiru

Hi all,

I often go for a ride near the local wetland area close to my house where a number of species including Jacana's, Magpie Geese, Black Swans and Plumed-whistling Ducks are commonly seen. well on Wednesday the 1/04/03 i had another great siting this time the bird i saw was a male Jabiru or Black-necked Stalk. This is the first time i have seen him there however i see or believe it is him fishing at another location in the area every so many months of the year and then he's gone again. I have never seen him with a female however I was led to beleieve these birds mate for life is this true? Or do the come together to breed? Thankyou for your help.
