Some good birds today (Anzac Day) within the NSW Central Coast (80-100 km north of the Sydney CBD).

YARRAMALONG VALLEY (west of Wyong)

Here was a small flock of 5 Pacific Bazas over the Yarramalong Valley (west of Wyong). One was performing the acrobatic display and calling - "ee-chew..ee-chew..". Also in the valley was a magnificant pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles over the town of Yarramalong,
atleast 15 Topknot and 2-3 White-headed Pigeons, Bar-shouldered Dove, Fan-tailed Cuckoos, Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoos, a pair of Jacky Winters and several Olive-backed Orioles.

NORAH HEAD

Still quite a number of White-breasted and a few Dusky Woodswallows (both seen flying together over nearby heath). A few Musk Lorikeets feeding in the flowering Swamp Mahogany at nearby Canton Beach.

BATEAU BAY

Met up with Alan Morris where we both saw at least 8 Swift Parrots feeding on lerps(?) in a Red Bloodwood. According to Alan (refer to Alan's recent email), they have been around for a few days now at Bateau Bay. There were also a number of Musk Lorikeets also about feedin in the Blackbutts and other Eucalypts.

SARATOGA

Saw a pair of Bush Stone-curlews on the edge of mangroves beside Henderson Street. I also briefly checked other Bush Stone-curlew locations at Empire Bay, Kincumber and St Hubert's Island (the later where I usually find them) without success.

Another good day in the Central Coast.
