Re Flame Robins

Further to Lawrie's speculation, in the autumn I have seen large numbers of
Flames congregated in places like the camping area on the Wellington River,
up from Licola, which they seem to use as a half way house if you like, on
their way down to the low country for the winter. Likewise other favoured
areas between the mountains and the flats. I had always surmised that the
birds I see in numbers in the winter, at places like Jack Smith Lake, and
the country along the Perry near Perry Bridge, came down from the north, or
could they be a mixture of  Vic. and Tassie birds?  Duncan Fraser, Maffra
