Thank you to everyone who provided valuable info on
the hide question, including sharing their personal
experiences, all of which will be passed on. Speaking
as one of the vertically challenged, I have spent a
lot of time on tiptoe or hunched over trying to see
out of assorted hides. Staggered height ranges I have
found are good, although that depends on space
available.
Protection around the side to prevent the birds seeing
people coming is also handy, after an irritating
experience at Cota Donana where a bunch of school kids
decided to walk around the front instead and scatter
everything for miles.
