Black-faced Cormorant (?) in SE Melbourne

Sorry all.  

I should have said that the bird, swimming near New St., was
similar to all the immature Black-faced Cormorants I have
seen before around here.  These look much like the portraits
in Pizzey and Knight or Morecombe (and unlike those in
Slaters and Simpson and Day where there is little colour
contrast between the upper and lower halves of the head). 
It was only Morecombe's reference to 'brown ear coverts'
which put me in any doubt at all.
