I'm in the same boat as Tony with a very large West Australian Gum madly
flowering in my front yard. It was a buzz with Rainbow Lorikeets, Musks
and honeyeaters yesterday afternoon so on parking the car in the driveway,
which is partly underneath the tree and with a song on the radio I wanted to
listen to, I reclined the driver seat, opened the sunroof and voila, perfect
birdwatching!! AND no sore neck from forever standing and looking up!

I need to take my socks off, not that I ever wear any, horrible things, in
order to count the numbers of Muskies, Purple-crowns, and New Holland H/Es
currently feeding in the big old River Red Gum in my garden. It started
flowering a few days ago and the bird noise out there is deafening. There
are millions of opercula forming nearly a matting on the ground underneath
the tree. No chance of a nap today !
Tony.
