G'day,

A quick note to say that the Laughing Gull has been on Bribie Island both
today and yesterday, roosting on the grassy island in the middle of
Buckley's Hole. The transformation from a breeding-plumaged bird to what it
is now has been remarkably quick. Time will tell (hopefully) whether it
will adopt a reverse moult cycle or whether it is trying to catch up with
its 'normal' moult cycle after the rigours of a long journey early last
year.

Locals may be interested to learn that the Kakadu Beach wader roost has
turned up some interesting birds in the last couple of days - Sooty
Oystercatcher (3), Grey Plover (1), Black-tailed Godwit (5) and Red Knot (5
immatures, one with an orange-red flag on its right leg).

Southerners may be interested to hear that the Scoopy's veggieburger can be
enhanced by asking for it to have added the sauce normally reserved for a
Mexican burger.

Cheers - Trevor.
